I live in an apartment where every view out the window is that of other people’s apartments. My outdoor space is the concrete walkway. And that’s the way it’s been in several apartments in several different states. Not that it ever bothered me, especially in New York City where it’s commonplace. But during the warmer months, it makes me long for an outdoor space much like the one pictured below - where I can read in the breeze, in my PJs,and celebrate with friends over pitchers of Sangria.
